The Phillipian Jailor of Acts 16 asked this profound question in unwavering faith that he had just seen God in action aiding two men. These two men, he knew, must surely know what was acceptable in God's eyes. We read that "..they spake unto him the word of the Lord and all that were in his house." The profoundness of this question still remains. We all ask ourselves, "What must I do to be saved?". What does the Bible say?
To answer the aforementioned question we choose to go to the Bible. We do not want to go to other people because there is always the risk of a person's thoughts being interjected to what they believe to be the truth. One who is concerned about New Testament Christianity can safely only rely on the New Testament. Here are some of Jesus' commands and other places where salvation is discussed in the New Testament.
Hear the Gospel (John 20:30-31; Romans 10:17)
Believe (Romans 1:16; Acts 18:8; Hebrews 11:6)Repent (Luke 13:3; Luke 24:47; Acts 3:19; Acts 17:30) Confess faith in Christ (Matthew 10:32; Acts 8:37; Romans 10:10) Be baptized (immersed)
(Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Continue faithful unto death (Matthew 25:21,34; 2 Peter 1:1)
