EVOLUTION

Robert Meredith

Did mankind evolve from lower life forms?  Today, we live in a nation which teaches our youth that humans evolved from some lower form of life, but in many cases prohibits creationism from being taught.  Volumes of books have been written on this subject, and sadly the scientific evidence which proves the theory of evolution to be false is often kept concealed.  There are several laws of science which disprove the theory of evolution (the 1st and 2nd laws of Thermodynamics and the Law of Biogenesis), however, the purpose of this article is to allow the Bible, the Word of God, to answer the question.

The theory of evolution requires long eons of time.  Most evolutionists say that the earth and this universe are millions or billions of years old.  However, Moses, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, reveals, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Gen. 1:1).  Then as you look in Exodus 20:11, Moses records, “For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that in them is.”  The Hebrew word “Yowm” is translated “day” and always means a literal 24-hour period of time when it is preceded by a number.  Therefore, the Lord created everything in six literal 24-hour periods of time, not over millions of years.  Moses said it clearly, “For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth…”  It should sadden us all when some try to compromise the Word of God through theistic evolution, trying to incorporate creation with the anti-God, anti-biblical theory of evolution.  God did not operate through evolution, which idea both science and the Bible show to be false.  God created all by Jesus Christ (Col. 1:16; Heb. 1:2; Eph. 3:9; Ps. 148:5).  Many claim that this world is very old, yet both the Bible and science show that the earth is not much over 10,000 years, if that much.  Man, Jesus said, has been here since the beginning, man did not arrive billions of years later (Mk. 10:6).

Not only does evolution require a great deal of time, but it also requires unlimited changes in the kinds of animals.  Evolutionists need something that was not human to produce something human.  God says that everything brings forth after its kind (Gen. 1:11-25).  Thus, a monkey produces a monkey, and a human produces a human.  There is limited change, but not unlimited, which evolution requires.  A rancher can cross breed cattle to develop a bigger, stronger kind, but it would still be a cow; it would not be something else.  Limited change occurs (a horse and a donkey would produce a mule, but it is still the same kind of animal).  If unlimited change occurs, where are all the missing links?  Not one has been found, and yet, if we evolved over millions of years, the evidence should be abundant.

One of two things is eternal:  mind or matter.  The second law of thermodynamics, which shows the universe to be running down, proves that matter is not eternal.  God is, and He gives the answers to the most asked questions.  From where did we come?  (Gen. 1:1).  Why are we here?  (Eccl. 12:13)  Evolution requires three things, all of which go against God and science:  the transmutation of kinds (unlimited change), life from non-life (which both Gen. 1:11-25 and the Law of Biogenesis—life comes from life—disprove), and the eternality of matter.  The Psalmist informs us that nature itself shows us that there must be a Creator (Ps. 19:1-6).  Christians are not anti-science.  True, science has given us much, but evolution is not true science, it is an unprovable and false theory.
